What is nSideTM?

nSideTM is the cloud software platform that drives your campus map editor and Emergency Operations Plan documentation. nSideTM gives you the ability to create and share up to the minute map details and EOP specifics with school administrators and first responders in both desktop and mobile environments.

Has the map or safety plan for my school changed?

All campus map and safety plan information entered as of September 18, 2015 has been upgraded to the new system. You should not see any changes to data input for the 2015-16 school year. The map editing and Emergency Operations Plan documentation process have been upgraded to meet your needs as well as guidelines set by the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE).

Has my username or password changed?

Your current Virtual Alabama username and password will continue to provide you access to edit both your campus map and your Emergency Operations Plan. If you need assistance with a username or password, please have your Central Office school safety coordinator contact the Help Desk at va-admin@alea.gov.

Does this affect my school map in Virtual Alabama?

Your campus map in Virtual Alabama will not be affected. Remember, the Virtual Alabama download gives you the ability to view and share your campus map in context with other helpful layers like Weather and the Sex Offender Registry. If you have not downloaded Virtual Alabama, please visit https://virtual.alabama.gov/, log in and click on the VA Desktop Client link.

Virtual Alabama School Safety Summit - 2016

The 6th Annual Virtual Alabama School Safety Summit will be hosted by nSide, and partnered with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and Alabama State Department of Education on February 29th and March 1st, 2016 in Montgomery, Alabama. The Summit will provide a discussion of emergency preparedness and response solutions and networking opportunities with first responders and K-12 public and private schools, colleges and universities. This year’s Summit includes solutions and discussions surrounding facilities management and how it plays a major role in emergency preparedness as well as day-to-day operations of your campus. The Summit will highlight and focus on training and discussions for emergency operations plans, vehicle tracking, a mobile environment for campus maps, active shooter scenarios, and overall school safety.
